200°C
Hey there!
Yep, talking to you!
Nope, not the other you, just you.
Oh, you – the just-out-of-the-oven, you!π
I hope you’re not baking in this crazy heat?
I've been desperately hunting for inspiration, but all I've found is my own pool of sweat! I’m practically swimming!π
Can we talk about how scorching it’s been lately?
Few weeks back, I had random conversations with my sister about how the harmattan was nowhere to be found when we needed it and how it decided to make a belated entrance in late January into February.
Well, this current situation is life’s way of teaching us not to take things for granted, I guess.

The widespread nature of this heat is nothing short of exasperating; it’s almost as if the entire country is stuck in a giant oven. This shared experience brings a touch of humor to the situation, although the reality is far from amusing.

Well, in an effort to find relief, I embarked on some research and brainstorming to devise strategies to feel better in the oven situation.
First and foremost, the golden rule: STAY HYDRATED! Water is your best friend in this scorching ordeal. I've practically attached a reusable water bottle to my hand, sipping on it throughout the day. It's like a lifeline in this sweltering sea.
Drinking water helps regulate your body temperature and prevents dehydration(as you sweat throughout the day, the liquids you are losing need to be replaced).
Also, food with high water content such as watermelon contribute to your overall fluid, keeping you hydrated. Proper hydration helps support overall health.
Take cool showers or baths to lower your body temperature. It's a quick and effective way to cool down, especially during hot weather.
Now, if you're a fan of black clothes, I've got some bad news – it's time to switch to the light side. Loose, light-colored clothes are the armor of choice. They're like your shield against the blazing sun. Plus, they let the breeze in, making you feel less like you're trapped in an oven. Bid farewell to those tight, dark shirts – they are not your allies in this battle.
Sunscreen might seem like a hassle, but it's essential. Cover your head with a hat or cap for extra protection. If you can, limit your physical activity to cooler parts of the day. I know, it feels like there's no such thing as a cool time, but we can dream, right?
Oh, and electric fans! A blessing. They could be a game-changer, but alas, NEPA has other plans. It's like they're playing hide-and-seek with our comfort. Well, we'll have to improvise. You can opt for hand-held fans. I recommend raffia fansπ.
Stay cool out there! And may the cool breeze find its way to us soon.
